Jurassic World Evolution Sales Hit 2 Million

Jurassic World Evolution was one of our favourite games of last year, and being based on a major movie series – and releasing alongside Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom with tie-in DLC – we were always curious about how well it sold. What were the Jurassic World Evolution sales figures?

Well, now developer Frontier has revealed sales figures for Jurassic World Evolution, Planet Coaster, and Elite Dangerous, and they’re all looking pretty healthy. Both of their park simulators sold 2 million copies each, and Elite Dangerous just crossed the 3 million mark. Not too shabby at all.

The sales were revealed by GamesIndustry.biz. Of course, Planet Coaster released around two years’ earlier than Jurassic World Evolution, making the Jurassic Park management title Frontier’s most successful game launch ever.

CEO David Braben said, “”We are very pleased with the success of Jurassic World Evolution, which has been our biggest launch to date. Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster also continue to perform well, as our strategy of supporting, nurturing and enhancing each of our game franchises continues to deliver.” Frontier expects to make between £75-88 million for the full financial year.

Braben also suggested that their next game, which will be separate from the other three franchises, will be revealed this year. “I look forward to providing more details about our fourth game franchise, as well as our existing franchises, in the coming months.”

As for Jurassic World Evolution, Frontier just released its first major DLC expansion, Secrets of Dr Wu, and hopefully we’ll see more of these in 2019 – aquatic and flying dinosaurs please…
